KW Key West Fences was founded in 2020 by fencing professionals who had been working on properties across Key West and the lower Florida Keys for years. The company started because we kept seeing homeowners get burned by out-of-town contractors who did not understand local permit rules, did not know how to work around the coral rock just below the surface, and did not account for the salt air and hurricane loads that fences here have to handle.
Key West is a specific place - small lots, old wood-frame Conch homes, a historic district with its own review process, and a climate that pushes materials harder than almost anywhere else in the country. We built this company around knowing those details, so every estimate we give is grounded in what a fence actually costs and lasts when it is built right for this environment.
Since 2020, we have worked on homes from the narrow streets near Mallory Square to the quieter residential blocks on the east end of the island, and up the Overseas Highway through the Keys to Marathon. Every job gets the same permit process, the same crew standards, and the same commitment to finishing clean and standing behind the work after we leave.
Every written quote breaks out materials, labor, permit fees, and any site-specific costs - like coral rock drilling - before work starts. If something changes on-site, we call you before we proceed.
We spec marine-grade hardware, hurricane-rated post depths, and materials that hold up in salt air. A fence built to mainland standards does not survive the same number of storm seasons here.
Most homeowners do not want to deal with the City of Key West Building Department or the Historic Architectural Review Commission. We submit the application, track approval, and update you without you having to make a single call to the permit office.
We respond within 1 business day, show up on the scheduled day, and finish what we start. When the job is done, we walk the fence with you before we call it complete. If something is not right, we fix it.
KW Key West Fences holds an active contractor license issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. You can ask for our license number at any time - reputable contractors provide it without hesitation.
We carry general liability insurance on every project. If anything is damaged in the course of our work, you are not left holding the bill. Before signing any contract, ask your contractor for proof of insurance.
We have been working in Key West and the surrounding Keys since 2020. We know the permit office, the historic district review process, and the ground conditions across the island. That local experience comes with every job.
